Streamlined rivets reminiscent of the B-17’s that flew from the Naples Airfield were part of AST Exhibits’ design for this display case.

The Naples Airfield Exhibit was Phase III of the Naples Depot Museum project.

Since an actual plane would not fit in the room, AST Exhibits mounted the front end of an Army Air Force AT-6 Texan aircraft.

Before the airfield was built, planes used the Naples Hotel golf course for a landing strip. AST Exhibits recognized this was a great way to begin telling the story of aviation in Collier County.

This life size soldier cut-out helps tell the aviation story from a military point of view.

The evolution of aviation in Naples was heavily influenced by the Army Air Force presence.

AST Exhibits designed and built this custom display case to reflect the style of various WW2 aircraft.

Nestled comfortably amongst the other displays in the Naples Depot Museum you will find the Collier County Airfield Exhibit.
