Everyone Will Be a Hero

Summertime is a perfect time to visit a children’s museum.

AST Exhibits recently completed designs for new exhibits in the Explorer’s Gallery at the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast. You can read more about the designs here: http://www.astexhibits.com/takers-to-givers/.

One of the design goals was to make guests feel like they are something special, that they are heroes. We wanted guests to feel like they can make a difference in their community and help them develop the tools to do just that.

To that end, we developed the Guardians of the River. The Guardians are a dynamic group of characters who help protect the plants and animals that live along Florida’s Treasure Coast. They lead guests to the museum on learning quests engineered to teach identification, conservation and preservation of the plants, animals and waterways along the Treasure Coast.

The new exhibits are not only immersive, they encourage active play and engagement with the exhibit structure. All of the exhibits require movement and play to complete specific quests.  A number of the quests require co-operative work, so that guests experience the power of collaboration as stewards of the land and sea.

We were so excited to present these new designs to the museum’s community that we produced a short video for their annual fundraising Gala. This was our first opportunity to introduce the Guardians.

We would love to hear what you think about this introduction. And when you are ready to create a new, exciting, and innovative space for your guests, we would love to help.
